Welcome back…and here we are nearly at the beginning of October!
It seems as though Connecting Generations inspires more interest every year. A Fall update with more news will follow shortly.
Here in the meantime announcements for our TWO writers’ groups that begin next week: The Written and Spoken Word will encourage those who would like to prepare for Open Mic poetry events. In the Stories workshops we will create stories using words and images. Both workshops are supported by the Salt Spring Arts Council and begin together on Thursday October 6th, each continuing separately on alternate Thursdays after that.

CONNECTING GENERATIONS Update February 2016
Here is a video about our intergenerational Writers’ Group. We have just started a writers’ group at Fernwood Elementary School. The Word is Spreading!
Students in Grades 1, 2 or 3 at Salt Spring Elementary, Fernwood and Fulford Elementary had the opportunity this week to try their skills as engineers and architects when a representative from Science World, British Columbia delivered structures workshops for 5 classes using KEVA building blocks. A training workshop for scientists in the community interested in participating in the Scientists and Innovators in Schools program took place the previous evening at the high school and was attended by 10 enthusiastic adults. Workshops were jointly organized by Science World B.C. and Connecting Generations.
